The Old Spice jingle was adapted by Ginger Johnson (a pseudonym of Austen Croom-Johnson) from a traditional bagpipe melody, "Scotland the Brave," in March 1953.  The lyrics are:

Yo-Ho! Yo-Ho!
Brushless or lather boys, whichever you've the notion.
Fifty cents for shaving cream, a dollar for the lotion.
"Old Spice means quality," said the captain to the bosun.
So look for the package with the ship that sails the ocean.
Yo-Ho! Yo-Ho!

Play the Jingle (with a little movie).

Play the Jingle (audio only).

(The Jingle comes from Old Time Radio)
